Me<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is Daniel Clark, and I am a writer.\u00a0 Not in the \u201cactually had written stuff\u201d sense of the word, just the \u201csome kid looking for a job\u201d sense.\u00a0 I created this blog at the suggestion of a couple of local bigwigs in the game journalism industry.<\/p>\n

I chose the username Scops during my senior year in high school because I wanted to be a fiction writer.\u00a0 \u201cScop\u201d is an Old English term for a bard or poet.\u00a0 Before Christianity spread through Europe, death was considered to be the end of being, and so scops\u2019 tales, by telling the tales of heroes past, were considered the closest thing to immortality.\u00a0 I just added the \u2019s\u2019 onto the end because it looked cool.<\/p>\n

I have been holding game joysticks and pads for as long as I can remember.\u00a0 Gaming really clicked for me with the Sega Genesis, and I\u2019ve been hooked ever since. I can think of no better way to scrape together a living than to write about the games I love.<\/p>\n

The Site<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed that the name of this blog is not Scops\u2019 Blog, but Scop\u2019s Blog.\u00a0 This is not a typo.\u00a0 This site is not just for me.\u00a0 This is for anyone out there with a story to tell.\u00a0 This is not just a gaming blog, it is a blog about gaming narrative.\u00a0 It is too early to pigeonhole this site as just about stories though, so I will be posting on anything and everything else that strikes my fancy.<\/p>\n

Gaming narrative is more than content put in games by developers.\u00a0 It\u2019s battle stories, too.\u00a0 It\u2019s the account of how you took down the final boss after you ran out of potions and arrows.\u00a0 It\u2019s a cautionary tale of trying to sneak up on a raider just to have a grenade bouquet fall on top of you.<\/p>\n
